Information And Guide To Knight Muzzleloading Guns
Open Breech Models
The MK85, Knight's original model, had an open breech with a pull-cock hammer. Despite all their innovations and improvements since then Knight still includes several open breech models in their line up. Many states simply do not allow guns with the features on the newer Knight models to be used during their black powder hunting seasons. For hunters in those states Knight keeps building open breech rifles.
The Knight Bighorn
Just because the Knight Bighorn uses an older style ignition system does not mean it gives up performance. It has a 26 inch Green Mountain barrel (drilled and tapped for easy rifle scope mounting) that easily handles magnum loads with all the accuracy one expects in a Knight gun. It is also available in .52 caliber for serious big game hunting power. With simple changes the Knight Bighorn can use any one of three ignition systems, number 11 caps, musket caps, or 209 primers making it legal for hunting in all 50 states.
Like other Knight guns the Bighorn is available with both blued and stainless barrels and synthetic stocks in several different colors and includes thumbhole options. It even comes in a left hand version.
The Wolverine 209 Youth Value Pack
The Wolverine was for many years Knight's most affordable and popular hunting muzzleloader. While Knight has dropped the adult sized versions for 2006 they are building a smaller version geared towards the youth market. It comes convenietly packed in a clam pack with the basic cleaning and shooting accessories a young hunter needs.
